When Alma Rosa was founded by Richard Sanford in 2005, he was already considered a legendary pioneer in the cultivation and vinifiction of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in Santa Barbara County. This winery may be the highest testament to his well-earned status. Situated in the Santa Rita Hills, the east-west orientation of the ridges in this range funnel in cool air from the nearby Pacific Ocean, creating perfect conditions for the Burgundian varietals. We will explore these vibrant, nuanced, and balanced selections with Alma Rosa’s National Sales Manager Wendy Roberts.
